Quickstart - From Idea to First Paying Customer

Quickstart · From Idea to First Paying Customer

You have an idea and no time, so this page lists only the core lessons - the smallest amount of reading that still produces a real result.

The Problem (in your language)

You want to validate whether your idea has real demand before you spend $10K+ on a dev shop - but you can’t read code, your available time is evenings and weekends (maybe 2-4 hours a week), and hiring anyone is premature. This route works within all three constraints.

The Minimal Path (Core Lessons Only)

Skip the lessons marked “optional” on the course landing page and you still walk away with every Founder OS artifact. Here’s the shortest route:

Module 1 - Hypothesis & Smoke Test

Output: one-sentence hypothesis + live landing page with Stripe price button + price-test signal.

Gate: ≥6% conversion from cold traffic (the “Promising” band in Lesson 1.4’s decision table); a measured click-to-payment rate from the price test. 3-6% means iterate the message, not advance.

Module 2 - Validate the Problem

Output: 10 Mom Test interviews + clickable prototype tested with 5 people.

Gate: ≥7 of 10 interviewees have spent time or money on the problem.

Module 3 - Design from Evidence

Output: one-page Product Brief from real customer vocabulary.

Gate: every feature traces back to a verbatim interview quote.

Module 4 - Build It Yourself

Output: live MVP at a real URL, ownership locked Day 1.

Gate: you own every account; the app loads; one core flow works end-to-end.

Module 5 - First Paying Customer

Output: one signed paid pilot + repeatable outbound channel.

Gate: signed pilot agreement + $500+ deposit received through Stripe.
